Responsibilities

Job Summary

The PACE Day Center Manager oversees daily operations, staff, and services at a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) site, ensuring compliance with state regulations while fostering a high-functioning Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Key duties include managing participant care, safety, transportation, and activities, alongside staff recruitment, training, and performance management to support elderly participants' independence.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Directs day-to-day operations of the PACE Day Center, including nutrition, transportation, and home care services.
  • Maintains compliance with state, federal regulations, including ensuring safety standards, Infection Control, and OSHA regulations.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates day center employees.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT); participate in care planning: initial, unscheduled, and annual assessments of participants as needed.
  • Assist with the development, oversight, implementation, and adherence to policies, procedures, and standards for all services in consultation with other management staff.
  • Tracks and investigates participant grievances/incidents, while implementing, tracking, and auditing KPIs to improve center performance.
  • Manages the Center’s budget and reviews monthly operational expenses to ensure fiscal compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health services, nursing, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience working with a frail or elderly population, with strong supervisory experience, preferably in geriatric care.
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes; minimum two years’ driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English and Armenian

Required Skill/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability and willingness to self-motivate, prioritize, and be agreeable to change processes to improve effectiveness
  • Ability to function at the highest level of licensing and competency
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate in working with others and show respect for diversity
  • Ability to present information effectively both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups from various cultural, ethnic, economic and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to use critical thinking to make decisions and problem solve
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems, data entry skills and internet search capabilities; proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs

Pay Rate:

  • $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
