Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring the quality of the clinical practice of assigned staff to maximize access for patients and facilitate the delivery of prompt, quality health care. Develop and maintain nursing protocols and procedures and assist in maintaining the clinical risk management program for risk management and claims control. Utilize EHR reports to meet federal funding requirements to ensure quality of care. Work closely with the Compliance department to assist medical staff and clinic sites in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements and standards

  • Oversee nursing services within all clinic sites
  • Ensure that all assigned staff are competent to operate under clinical standing orders
  • Assure compliance with all state and federal boards and regulatory bodies as required for licensing and certification, and other state and federal programs
  • Assess training needs and promote developmental activities
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained by non-provider medical staff in all patient records and nurse/staff-provider communications
  • Develop, refine and maintain systems and processes to assure the reliability, accuracy and confidentiality of information in conjunction with medical/professional staff service providers

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Current California RN license
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field
  • Current AHA approved BLS certification which includes in person certification and test on resuscitation models  (BLS Child, Infant, Adult)
  • Minimum five years acute care nursing experience
  • Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in a health care setting (preferably a hospital or community clinic setting)
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes; minimum five years’ driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record

Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • 2 years ED and/or ICU experience

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience/familiarity with Electronic Medical Records systems, NextGen preferred
  • Knowledge of CHC, ambulatory settings preferred
  • Knowledge of DHS regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA and federal, state and local laws and regulatory requirements for providing outpatient ambulatory health care preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of the BRN scope of practice for RNs, LVNs, and other nursing personnel
  • Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staff
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs  
  • Excellent public speaking skills, with ability to engage others in the review of educational materials
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Emergency response capabilities for possible crisis situations
  • Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction, both externally and internally within the organization
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel

Salary

  • $ 125,000 - 132,000 Annual
