Overview

Vista Community Clinic is a private, non-profit, multi-specialty outpatient clinic providing care in a comprehensive, high quality setting. Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of mental health prevention and education through facilitated small groups to target youth population as required by program and/or as directed by Supervisor. Work with other program staff, VCC staff and community partners.

  • Facilitate groups to provide information, education, to target population, adhering to program guidelines.
  • Support participants of program in building resiliency through self-esteem, self-efficacy, and problem solving.
  • Encourage participants to engage in program activities and curriculum to maintain program retention and efficacy.
  • Provide direct referrals and share resources with program participants.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualificaitions

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, Psychology, Child Development, or related field
  • 3 years experience in the behavioral/mental health field
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes
  • Availability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours, as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in either Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, Psychology, Child Development, or related field
  • 1 year experience in the behavioral/mental health field
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience working with youth
  • Ability to present information accurately and effective both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
  • Ability to create a comfortable, supportive learning environment for participants
  • Excelent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients and other staff

Pay Range$25 - $27.50
