Vista Community Clinic is a private, non-profit, multi-specialty outpatient clinic providing care in a comprehensive, high quality setting. Responsibilities

Assist in advancing public policy efforts through advocacy and education. Coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of program strategies working with a variety of audiences including community members, parents, students, community groups, partner agencies, public officials and other VCC staff.

  • Work to broaden community engagement in public policy efforts 
  • Provide group and individual information, education, training, consultation and referrals to target populations, in accordance with program guidelines and/or as directed by Supervisor
  • Identify key individuals and groups in the community to recruit for program goals and serve as a liaison between them and the agency
  • Effectively communicate program messages through in-person meetings, presentations, emails, interviews and other public forms of communication
  • Coordinate and seek regular consultation with local and statewide partners and funders to increase coordination and training in the region and implement efforts to ensure diverse, engaged community members
  • Identify cultural preferences and practices of target population related to their needs
  • Attend and serve as a representative at professional meetings

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate equivalent
  • Minimum of five years’ community education experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum one year experience in community alcohol, tobacco, or other drug prevention

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to present information accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary for communication with program staff and clients

Pay Range

$20.00 - $22.00
