Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to CPHW and OB Clinicians to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care. Ensure patient questions are answered, schedule appointments, process referrals and forms, generate documents, make copies of needed documents and provide excellent customer service so the patient leaves with a positive impression of VCC.

  • Closely track patients that do not show up for appointments by calling, texting and sending letters
  • Schedule follow-up appointments with appropriate Clinicians during specific timeframes
  • Work in partnership with the PSRs to check-in patients, verify insurance and collect forms
  • Act as liaison at TCMC for delivering moms collecting pregnancy outcomes, birth histories and scheduling postpartum and newborn appointments
  • Process disability and FMLA forms
  • Process NT ultrasound referrals to TCMC
  • Request lab, imaging and specialist reports and scan into chart
  • Contact patients to schedule appointments (i.e. HEDIS lists, special reports and projects)
  • Gather and send medical records to/from TCMC, Perinatologist and others as needed
  • Assist in clinical data outcome reporting and participate in quality improvement projects

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year related experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of community health centers, and public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systems
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities

Pay Range

$18.50 - $19.50
