Responsibilities

  • Assist community residents in completing eligibility and application packets for healthcare insurance enrollment or renewal
  • Instruct clients on the documents necessary for the eligibility process, and provide an overview of available healthcare insurance options
  • Act as a liaison between the patient, healthcare insurance group, and VCC for enrollment information, and for maintenance of healthcare insurance

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Willingness and ability to complete certification as a Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC)
  • Minimum two years' of experience in the customer service or social service fields, or in community volunteer work
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation

Preferred

  • Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC)

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systems
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, internet use and MS Office

Pay Range

$18.50-$20.75
