Overview

Responsible for troubleshooting and coordinating resolution of network hardware and software problems. Support all applications. Install and maintain network/software systems needed for EHR and EDR. Support NextGen EHR application as well as VCC staff utilizing it. Participate in project teams, problem resolution and documentation of findings. Responsible for working with clinic and IT staff to identify needs and operational models. Attend training and provide other support as requested by management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, peripheral devices, and related software (Microsoft Office).
  • Maintain and support end-user mobile devices, including smart phones and tablets.
  • Support all software pertaining to EHR (electronic health records).
  • Maintain and support Active Directory and related components – Group Policy, DFS, etc.  Administer user accounts for Active Directory and Exchange.
  • Maintain and support network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, etc.
  • Maintain and support VoIP phone system (Shoretel)
  • Create and maintain end-user and IT staff documentation.
  • Maintain and support backup software (Arcserve), test backup procedures quarterly, ensure proper rotation of backup media onsite and at offsite storage locations
  • Provide second tier support to staff in first tier positions.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum five years information technology experience
  • Working knowledge of network and backup systems, including hardware and software maintenance and support
  • Understanding of cable plants and network infrastructure from a troubleshooting perspective
  • Maintain current IT knowledge demonstrated by passing an IT Network Assessment Test
  • NCP (NextGen Certified Professional) certification is to be obtained within 6 months of hire date
  • Documentation of networks/LANS/WANS
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of systems
