Overview

Now hiring a Health Educator with an understanding of HIV. Work with HIV-positive individuals to assess individual risk and needs and enroll as appropriate into a risk reduction program.   

 

Vista Community Clinic is a non-profit organization that is working to advance community health and hope by providing access to premier health services and education for those who need it most.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with individuals to assess individual risk and needs, enrolling those appropriate into an individualized risk reduction program
  • Internal and external program reporting
  • Oversee completion of program objectives and recommend changes in scope as needed
  • Schedule medical appointments for HIV positive patients
  • Clinical information gathering
  • Patient intake activities

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School diploma or equivalent with two years of healthcare patient interaction
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated competency working with culturally diverse, low/no income clients
  • Successful experience and demonstrated ability in general office skills and proficiency in MS-Windows, MS-Office, internet use and data entry
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree in a related field with two years community education and/or direct patient services experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to HIV disease
